Morpheus 8 is a microneedling device that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with microneedles. It is used to improve the appearance of the skin by stimulating collagen production which leads to smoothing and tightening.
Fractora is also a fractional radiofrequency (RF) device that uses a matrix of micro-pins to deliver RF energy to the skin. It is also used to improve the appearance of the skin and stimulate collagen production, but it does not use microneedles.
In general, microneedling treatments like Morpheus 8 are able to reach deeper layers of the skin than non-microneedling treatments like Fractora. However, the depth of penetration of the RF energy delivered by either device can be adjusted by the provider depending on the specific treatment goals and needs of the patient.
Both platforms are made by InMode and Fractora technology predates Morpheus8. Dr Kim owned and used Fractora for many years but has recently brought the updated Morpheus8 technology to Bespoke Skin MD. The Morpheus resurfacing handpiece is similar to the Fractora handpiece and can be combined with the microneedling tip to achieve enhanced results.
Stimulating collagen production is key to smoother, tighter, more youthful looking skin.
